I can’t stop eating this!
It’s so beautiful, and has so many possibilities.
It’s easy, and the sauce is refreshing!
Oh, summer will end all too soon… .

Hurry! Make these summer-time noodles for yourself before it’s too late!
.
This version looked so gorgeous with pink shrimp, green zucchini and bean sprouts, orange peppers, golden thin omelette strips, black wakame, and
possibly the last of our ripe red homegrown tomatoes.

The deer have discovered my garden!
They ate all the chard.
Now they seem to like tomatoes.
They have left the shiso and basil alone.
So far…

A Nice Surprise: When I was three! | Japanese Black Sesame Dressing |
Hi Tess,
Very colourful dish! :D
Im keeping the Hiyashi chuka in my freezer , So i can eat them anytime!
Can you get the ” Shiso”? I can’t find them…
I have tried grow them before, but they didn’t grow..
Hi Kumiko,
I am growing both green and red shiso. Some of the plants self sowed and came up from last year’s plants. I bought new seeds this year because I didn’t know the old ones would come back! And I also picked up a couple of plants. They grow really well here—way more than I need! I’d send you lots, but I don’t think they’d make it to the UK.
They do like a lot of sun. Perhaps that’s why you had trouble?
Also the Korean store up on the corner sells some really really huge leaves. Maybe ask about them at a Korean or Japanese restaurant?
